We had danpatjuk (sweet red bean soup) and hobakjuk (pumpkin soup) at school tonight.  The director brought it in and told us it was tradition to eat danpatjuk for energy on the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year.  The soup symbolizes good wishes and the balls of rice inside symbolize unity and prosperity.  They both were rather tasty
