I frequently walk by Bagel on Damen and I’ve always wanted to go in.  Well, the Big Guy and I popped in the other day with high hopes of finding a new spot for a quick bite in the neighborhood.  Sadly we were let down.  We love supporting local and small businesses but Bagel really missed the mark.  After eating there both of us said, even Einsteins makes a better bagel sandwich.
So here are the low points of the Bagel deli:
They don’t use real eggs.  Their egg sandwiches are made with a McDonald’s-esque egg patty.  It was gross
They’re ‘spreads’ are pretty bland.  You’d think something like “wasabi” or “white truffle” would be full of flavor… alas, not here.
Stumptown Coffee.  Really?  With artisan coffee roasters like Metropolis, Casteel, and Chicago Roasting Works right here in the city why get your coffee of New York?
If you want to get down on the best bagel sandwich in Chicago, go to Chicago Bagel Authority.  In my opinion you can’t be disappointed if you go there. ;)
